Synopsis: There are heroes, there are superheroes, and then there’s Hancock. With great power comes great responsibility - everyone knows that - everyone, that is, but Hancock. Edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood, Hancock’s well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough - as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy. Hancock isn’t the kind of man who cares what other people think - until the day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey, and the sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all.
Did Will Smith deliver another praiseworthy movie? Eh... Not so much. Hancock certainly is a cool film and incredibly entertaining, but is it "Will Smith cool"? No. Smith certainly is a great actor (one of my favorites), and he still does an outstanding job playing the role of a hard-living and hard-drinking superhero, but I was comparing it to Will's past movies, I think was my problem. Hancock is a funny, action-packed, and well-done film, but not the case when it's compared with "I,Robot", "Independence Day", and "I Am Legend".
The thing that got me was the camera work. I think they were trying to get a more "realistic and artistic" view, and failed. The shots are shaky, out of focus, and right up in the actors faces. It made my eyes and brain hurt a little, not to mention my friend's stomach. If it were not for this crummy approach on the camera angles, it quite possibly could have gotten an A or A-.
The language was very vulgar. Lotsa lotsa swear words. Almost in an R rating sense. The "F-bomb" is said once. "Bad A" is repeated excessively, and all the rest of the insults out there.
Overall, Hancock wasn't the only one that was drunk... The camera man certainly was drunk with the poor camera work, and the script writer with the fowl language hahaha. Maybe that's why they did it like that, in order to magnify the drukedness of the character... Poor choice...
However, if you can stomach the camera and language, do see this movie. It's a great movie other then those two things. But don't say I didn't warn you.

I would've for sure thought this movie would be great. I don't know as if I would be able to see it. My stomach might not be able to handle the motion of the crappy camera work. I think Nate would still want to see it though. Thanks for heads up about this movie.
